Breakfast is undeniably one of the most crucial meals of the day. And personally, it happens to be my favorite too! Although it sounds cliche, there’s no denying that having a nutritious breakfast can set the tone for the rest of your day. I feel much better, both physically and mentally, after having a fresh and healthy breakfast in the morning. However, given my busy schedule, I hardly ever have enough time to prepare my breakfast. As someone who frequents the gym in the morning, I try to ensure that my breakfast is rich in protein and other essential nutrients to help me stay fueled and energized throughout the day.

Here is a list of some ingredients that I always have in my kitchen:
  • Cottage Cheese (bonus points if it’s Good Culture brand)
  • Eggs
  • Egg Whites (I usually combine one egg with one serving of egg whites)
  • Fruits
  • Whole Grain or Flour-Free Bread (I usually buy Ezekiel bread)
  • Turkey or Chicken Sausage

Kitchen Gadgets

When it comes to preparing breakfast, my favorite kitchen gadgets always come in handy. The one that I use the most is definitely my food processor! It helps me whip up a delicious and protein-packed blend of cottage cheese and fruit for a healthy and filling start to my day. I love experimenting with different combinations of fruits and flavors to keep things interesting.

In addition to my food processor, I recently purchased this set of pans from Amazon that have quickly become a staple in my kitchen. They are not only affordable but also aesthetically pleasing, which is always a plus. The pans are of great quality and have held up well through multiple uses. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and stylish option for their cooking needs.

Routine

I workout in the mornings; read here about how I became a morning person. I usually have a brief window of around 30 minutes before I start my workday. During this time, I need to quickly get ready, eat breakfast, and settle down at my desk (which is conveniently located in my home). I prefer my breakfast to be healthy, rich in protein. And it definitely needs to be easy to prepare.

If you’re someone who likes to plan ahead and be organized, you may find meal prepping to be a helpful in your routine. Others may feel like they want their breakfast fresh each morning. It’s worth mentioning that most of the breakfast recipes mentioned below are great fresh but simple enough to prepare in advance and enjoy multiple times throughout the week. This can save you time and effort in the long run, while still ensuring you start your day with a delicious and nutritious meal.

I like to do a combination of meal prepping some items and making others fresh each morning. One of my go-to options is breakfast turkey sausage, which I usually buy from Target. To make it last throughout the week, I cut it into five pieces, cook it ahead of time, and store it in the fridge. This way, I can just heat it up in the morning and have a quick and easy breakfast ready to go.

However, it’s important to remember to check the temperature of the sausage while cooking it to ensure it’s fully cooked and safe to eat.

In terms of eggs, I have a trick that works well for me. I mix one whole egg with one serving of egg whites to equal two eggs. I do this because of my cholesterol levels, but also because egg whites have less fat than egg yolks, which helps me get the protein I need without too much added fat.

These meals are not only delicious, but also nutritious and easy to make.

Firstly, I love to have Whipped Cottage Cheese with Blueberries and Honey. Although it may sound a bit odd to mix cottage cheese with fruit, I can assure you that this recipe is worth trying. The combination of whipped cottage cheese, blueberries and honey is simply divine. I usually put this on a piece of toast or eat it plain!

For a change of pace, I also enjoy Cottage Cheese and Oatmeal Pancakes. At first, I was skeptical of the idea of blending cottage cheese and oatmeal together to make a good pancake batter. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the outcome. Sometimes, I even add blueberries to the batter to make it even more delicious.

Another breakfast option that I enjoy is Egg Bakes. This is a great way to get in some veggies and protein in the morning. I usually use this recipe and add cooked turkey sausage to it. Sometimes, I’ll even airfry half a bag of shredded hashbrowns. This adds a bit of crunch it to my egg bake.

I also love making Banana Cream Pie Overnight Oats. I find this recipe to be perfect for breakfast or lunch. The addition of cheesecake pudding packet adds an amazing flavor that makes it taste so good. However, I do usually leave out the chia seeds!

Finally, I recently discovered Ham, Egg, and Cheese rollups, which have become a new favorite of mine. These rollups are high in protein, low in carbs and so delicious.

In conclusion, breakfast is an essential meal that should not be skipped or overlooked. With the right ingredients, kitchen gadgets, and meal planning strategies, you can enjoy a delicious, nutritious, and easy-to-prepare breakfast every day. Whether you prefer sweet or savory, hot or cold, there are plenty of options to choose from. Experiment with different recipes, mix and match your favorite ingredients, and find what works best for you. By starting your day with a healthy breakfast, you can boost your energy, improve your mood, and set yourself up for success. So, why not give it a try and see how it can change your mornings for the better?
